New Musician Digs

YAY!
I'm moving.
Hopefully the church by the new joint will be as cool as the church I've been practicing in near my current place for the last 3 years.
Crud, I've been putting off some maintainence on my pipes all week -- I was going to do it tonight and still haven't gotten to it. That dinner of a bag of popcorn got in the way.
So anyway, those of you at the post office who insist on stalking me, pleased be advised of the address change.

OK-DOkie... I'm into the new place. I think it's going to work better for me. Haven't checked with the near-by church yet, have barely unpacked, I'm tired and sore as heck. After getting done yesterday, I bucked up and made it downtown for my usual busking session with the kit drummer of my band -- The Bag'n'Pipe Hoppers (thebagnpipehoppers.tribe.net/). Anyway, things went $nicely$ for us -- additionally, we were asked to record for this rapper chick's album. Read the following -- it's a post about yesterday. If you're not a member of the Hopper tribe, check it out!

    _Shhh! Recording..._

OK, so yesterday while we were busking, this rapper chick who's seen us a number of times asked that we might lay down a track for her July9th'05 that she might rap over for her efforts. Pretty cool, eh? Yeah, so, that's the same date as the Mt.Vernon Highland Games, and the same date as the seccond of the 2 soccer (aka football) matches at Qwest field... but I think I can blow off those to go record. Jesse & I want to do it, don't know if we'll have Blake in and Robo's talking with his people about it. Anyway, whatever comes of it, I'll let you know.

Jesse & I have also been talking about trying to do a weekend album (not sure if I've already blethered a bit about this here) to be ready in time for Xmas sales this year. I'll let you know what develops of that too.

PS: We were also told by this one artist guy yesterday that Progue is _THE_ place for artists -- said we'd go over huge there. So Jesse & I are thinking of starting to claim that we're big in Progue, only that the Porgueisians don't know it yet -- you know, it's like saying "We're big in Europe.", except saying Progue sounds all the more wacky.

      Is Progue near Prague?
By the way, Danika brought over the CD...
      Danke!

What! Dang it.... I caught that and thought I fixed it with that previous deletion. Oh well. I guess we could say that we're big in Progue and there'd be no mis-truth about it.

So about that CD -- I take it you got to listen to it? Enjoyed it I hope. Was that the Westlake Sessions Dec'04 Vol. I or the Folklife 2005 Vol. I? In other words, did it have Jingle Bells on it, or me singing opera? Westlake is cool, I like the development that can be heard w/in our music through to the Folklife'05 CD. I also dig one of our St.Pat'sDay'05 CDs in particular -- our show at Nectar in Fremont.

If its Folklife'05 you crossed paths with, the first 30mins is from our indoor show on Sunday; the 2nd 30 is from the impromptue street party that occurred that night where we were busking. Jamming and talking afterward. 40+ people dancing the hippy-dippy-McDoo, 100+ people watching them and rocking out, followed by 12 cops that shut us down when we had gone past the close-time of Folklife. It was a hell of a lot of fun. If it wasn't Folklife'05, then I'll have to show you that one when I can. I'm hoping to get a track or two from that CD up-loaded to our MySpace profile (www.myspace.com/thebagnpipehoppers) soon -- easier now that I'm on DSL.

        Enjoy!
